报告摘要:
Batteries play a crucial role in many industry fields, from large-scale energy storage systems to tiny Internet-of-Things devices. Given the complex physical structure and the chemical reactions inside a battery, understanding and predicting its current and future working conditions is challenging yet necessary for management and maintenance. In this tutorial, we will show how the recent advances of big data analytics and deep learning could be leveraged for battery state profiling, beyond traditional electrochemical modelling. We will also examine the joint optimization of battery reservoir and the power grid supply. Taking the backup batteries in cellular base stations as a case, we will demonstrate a unified learning-based framework to accurately predict the battery states and the remaining lifetime based on the historical onboard data and the external power outage events. Such data-driven profiling minimizes the reliance on the domain knowledge of specific batteries and supports large-scale deployment with reduced cost and service interruption.

刘江川,加拿大工程院院士,IEEE Fellow,加拿大 Simon Fraser University (SFU)计算机学院教授,曾任清华大学 EMC 讲席教授(2013-2016)和清华深圳研究生院鹏城学者特聘教授(2016-2017)。2004年获得香港青年科学家奖,2015年获得加拿大国家自然科学与工程研究理事会(NSERC)授予青年教授的最高奖项E.W.R. Steacie纪念奖,2017年获得香港科技大学计算机系首届杰出校友奖。他发表了400 余篇国际期刊和会议论文,总引用数近18000次,H-index 61。他曾获首届IEEE INFOCOM Test of Time Paper Award和ACM SIGMM的两个旗舰论文奖:Nicolas D. Georganas Best Paper Award 2013和ACM Multimedia Best Paper Award 2012。他是IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Big Data, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, IEEE Internet of Things Journal等期刊的编委,以及IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing的指导委员会委员。他是IEEE INFOCOM2021的TPC Co-Chair。他是初创企业江行智能的联合创始人,由红杉资本、松禾资本、百度风投、保利资本、联想创投、上海临港等机构投资,专注于边缘计算在工业和能源互联网中的应用。

王方鑫博士现任香港中文大学(深圳)助理教授。他于北京邮电大学获得学士学位,清华大学获得硕士学位,加拿大西蒙弗雷泽大学(Simon Fraser University)获得博士学位,并在加拿大不列颠哥伦比亚大学(University of British Columbia)从事博士后研究。他是深圳市海外高层次人才,曾获国家留学基金委优秀自费留学生奖学金,西蒙弗雷泽大学Dean’s Convocation Medal。他近年来一直专注于计算机网络、多媒体传输优化与机器学习方面的研究,并在IEEE INFOCOM, ACM Multimedia, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transaction on Mobile Computing, IEEE Internet of Things Journal等国际高水平期刊和会议上发表30余篇论文。他担任IEEE/ACM IWQoS 2021国际会议的Publication主席、委员会成员,IEEE ICC 2020-2021国际会议技术程序委员会成员,并担任IEEE/ACM ToN, IEEE TMC, IEEE IOT Journal, IEEE TNSE, IEEE Network等多个国际期刊的审稿人。
